"PILATES has changed my life, and I love helping my clients make that change in their own lives"

   -Kelly Heffner

The greatest thing about Pilates is that it really does work. This type of discipline has kept me physically and mentally challenged for the last 19 years. After being introduced to Pilates back in1997,my body completely changed. I became more toned and slender. I strengthened my core and back muscles, improved my posture, body awareness and learned how to attain the mind/body connection. This connection is the foundation that Pilates was built on,and what makes it stand out from other exercise programs, making me a Pilates devotee forever.

2001 I graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, thereafter I found myself working for a corporation and sitting behind a desk for 9 hours a day. I realized then that my life sitting at a desk was going to be a short one, despite a promising career. My spirit was starving for something else.

2003 I moved to Los Angeles, where I finally found my home and future Pilates career. The turning point came in 2003,when I helped a friend recover from an injury, using techniques I’d learned in Pilates. It was at that moment when I decided I wanted to help people enjoy good health through Pilates.

2004 I enrolled in the Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Program,at Center Studio, where I studied under Karen J. Luker (BASI Master Trainer) and Michael Holden (PTA and CPT). The certification program consisted of both Classical East Coast and West Coast Philosophy,to fully serve the needs of each client on an individual basis.

2005 I received my certification as Mind-Body Professional (Certified in Reformer,Cadillac,Wunda Chair,Ladder Barrel,Spine Corrector and Pilates Mat).

2005 I began teaching and building my clientele base, through private Pilates one-on-one training, group classes for Pilates mat, reformer,MVE chair, and Springboard (beginners, intermediate, advanced levels).

2009 I received my certification for the Pink Ribbon Program, where I became a certified Post-Rehabilitative Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist, which qualifies me to assess, design and implement individual, group exercise fitness programs for those diagnosed with cancer.

2010 I received my Pilates Method Alliance certification, and became a certified PMA instructor, which is a certification program for Pilates teachers that is nationally recognized and accredited by the NCCA (National Commission for Certifying Agencies)

Presently,I stay up to date with monthly workshops and yearly certification programs. A great way to give me an edge when it comes to keeping my clients motivated and challenged.
